Specializing in Japanese & Siberian Irises

The Details

SHIPMENT

Acknowledgment: We deposit your checks and remove your plants from our inventory when we receive your order. Acknowledgment will arrive in the mail or by email.

Plant Shipping: We like to ship on Mondays or Tuesdays during the cool months of spring and early fall. It is usually late April when we see growth in the irises. We send fine, large bare-root plants. During the months of June and July we do not ship plants. It is bloom time here and we are busy with our gardens: hosting visitors, evaluating seedlings and hybridizing. We resume shipping to hot and dry climates in the fall, when temperatures here are cool. If you have a  special time you would like your plants shipped, let us know and we will try to accommodate your needs. When ordering your plants, please bear in mind that they will not put on new root growth when temperatures are above 90º. All of our plants are field dug, we therefore cannot ship out of season.

International: We can ship anywhere in the world. International shipments require a phytosanitary certificate ($100), plus the actual charges for express air shipping which we will bill you as charged. Please include any customs import papers that may be required for your country and the name of the city through which your shipment will enter.

NOTE: UPS Ground Delivery has become our method of choice for Canadian shipment. We will pass along the shipping charges to you and add a handling fee to cover UPS packaging.

Pickup: Plants can be picked up at the garden on our Open Garden Days or by special arrangement, however you need to order plants for garden pickup two weeks in advance so that we can have them ready for you. Books and other garden products: Books and other garden products are shipped separately from plants.
