A strong overall yellow with 5” ruffled flowers of excellent form and branching, round and ruffled falls fade slowly while the crimped edges remain a strong yellow throughout the bloom period.

First bloom 34" and 3 buds, repeat bloom 40” and 5 buds. The 4˝" flowers are very close to true medium blue.

Medium violet-blue flowers are the first to open at our garden.  Repeat bloom gives us 8 weeks total flowering.

Light green-yellow, becoming white by day two. Excellent form and branching with round, ruffled falls and wide, tufted style. H.M. 2003.

Bright red-purple 4˝” flowers with close-to-black veins and dark violet halos. 2" semi-flaring falls and 2 branches.

The most outstanding feature of these excellent flowers is the dramatically stippled white signals bursting out on the medium violet-blue falls.

Dark violet blue with velvety texture. Wide styles and silver wire-type edging around the falls. A handsome flower, bloom extends 12 weeks.

Lovely 5 ˝" flowers are held on well-branched stalks.  Dark blue falls contrast with lighter blue standards and are enhanced by green signals.  Form is round and ruffled.

A lilac pink of lovely, ruffled form and color. Standards and feathered styles form a white cup at the bottom of which are large purple spots. Falls are darker around the light yellow signals and green hafts.

An 8th generation yellow-green tetraploid with round, ruffled form and tufted style arms. Our own Merryspring Nature Park in Camden, Maine is the inspiration for the name. 

Floriferous small flowered snow white with 3" to 4" ruffled flowers.  Pale green veins in the signals accent the white color.  Blooms continuously for 6 weeks.

The 5" flower is a lovely combination of colors: dark violet-blue falls and light violet-blue styles which lighten at the edges. White splashed signals playfully show past the styles.  Form is excellent, 3 buds at the terminal and 2 at the branch.

McEwen Siberian Iris

The flower has arching, ruffled form with diamond dusted dark violet-blue falls and standards. Style arms are tufted, ruffled violet. The flower blooms late with the Japanese Irises and miraculously repeats in the early fall. The overall flower effect is of a star studded midnight sky.

MIDNIGHT PURPLE: (2005) tetraploid, 36”, L, RE ................                            $10.

This lovely yellow-white, ruffled 4 ˝" flower emerges from a ruffled bud. The flaring form catches the light and transforms it into a sparkle. Two branches, yellow blaze.

This lovely medium blue flower is an “attention-getter” in our gardens. Because its blaze and haft marks are scarcely visible, the  flower reads as a strong medium blue.

Light yellow-green bud.  Falls and standards have  violet–blue veins with lines of pale yellow/green.  Signal is yellow, pale green at center.   White feathered style arms. 2 branches.
